Mangaluru: Passion outranks qualification in any profession.Therefore Teachers and students with insatiable passion can achieve the unachievable in life by which the individual, family and society will be benefited says Mr. Ullas Kamath, the joint Managing Director Jyothi Laboratory Ltd. He was addressing the students and teachers as the Chief guest on the occasion of Teachers’ Day celebration at Expert PU College Valachil. He enlightened the gathering with inspirational discourse. He said that focus is the mantra of success and one should become the best in anything that he/she aspires to be.
The formal programme began with the lighting of the ceremonial lamp. The dignitaries and the guest offered floral tributes to Dr. S Radhakrishnan, the former President of India. As part of “ Guruvandana” The students honoured the teachers with flowers and mementos.
The Chairman, Expert Group of Institutions, Prof. Narendra L Nayak in his introductory remark said that he always looks up to someone like Mr. Ullas Kamath to inspire and motivate students. He lauded the simplicity of Mr. Ullas Kamath and remarked that he is an inspiration not only for students but also for teachers.
Addressing the gathering Mrs. Ushaprabha N Nayak, Vice Chairperson, Expert Group of Institutions said that teaching is a profession of sacrifice and it needs great sacrifices to be a good teacher. She advised the students to become good human beings in life and always remember their teachers.
Dr. N K VIjayan Karippal, Principal Expert PU College, Mr. Shrikrishna Bhat, HOD of Kannada Department and Mr. Balakrishna Shetty A, HOD of Chemistry Department shared their experiences on behalf of teaching community.
The formal programme was followed by cultural extravaganza by student and teachers. Vice Principal Mr. Raghavendra Shenoy, Programme Director Mr. Sudheer Rai and Mrs. Nikitha Amin, Co-ordinator of cultural activities were present on the occasion. Ms. Kusumitha Vice President of Student parliament welcomed the gathering. Master Bhuvan V B, Discipline Secretary-Student Parliament proposed vote of thanks. Master Amruthraj and Ms. Varsha compered the programme.
