It brings physical and mental toughness and getting exposed to sunlight helps in overcoming Vitamin-D deficiency”.-said Sri U. T. Khader, Hon. Minister for Food, Civil Supplies & Consumer Affairs, Govt. Of Karnataka. He was speaking as the Chief Guest for the inaugural function of the Annual Sports Meet 2017-18 of Expert P. U. College, Kodialbail, which was held on Thursday, 12th of October 2017, at Mangala Stadium Mangalore. He declared the meet open by hoisting the flag and releasing the balloons.
Prof. Narendra L. Nayak, Chairman, Expert Group of Institutions, presided over the function. Mrs. Ushaprabha N. Nayak, Vice- Chairperson, Expert Group of Institutions graced the occasion. Mr. Ankush N. Nayak, director of Information Technology, Expert Group of Institutions, Ustad. Rafiq Khan, Trustee, Expert Group of Institutions, Dr. N. K. Vijayan, Principal, Expert P. U. College, Valachil & Yogaguru, Yogarathna Gopalakrishna Delampady were the other dignitaries present on the dais.
Prof. Ramachandra Bhat, Principal, Expert P. U. College, Kodialbail, welcomed the gathering. Anoop Srinivas, Sports Secretary took the charge of oath taking ceremony.
Various Competitions were held for the students.
In the valedictory session, Chief Guest Sri. M. Jaganath Kamath, Auditor, Expert Group, emphasized on the need of giving equal importance to academics. The prize winners were felicitated by the Chief Guest and the Chairman of Expert Group of Institutions, Prof. Narendra L. Nayak & the Principal, Prof. Ramachandra Bhat . I G Batch emerged as the Overall Champions of the meet and Vrushali and Fazil bagged the Individual Championships. Sports Convener, Mr. Pramod Kini, proposed the vote of thanks. Ms. J. Zita D'Souza & Ms. Niha Fahim compered the programme.
